We are Stephanie and Drew: Two vegan explorers on a quest to experience as much as possible of this beautiful world.
We created veg-x.com to share our cruelty free adventures and bring attention to all the connections between exploration and compassion.
Our mission is to show that a life full of adventure and exploration can be enjoyed in a compassionate way and benefit not only our lives, but the lives of other beings as well.
Our greatest passion with this site is the ability to spotlight deserving animal sanctuaries and the amazing work they are doing.
We love all types of travel, adventure, and exploration from vegan resorts to off the grid camping. We look forward to sharing our favorite locations, foods, sanctuaries, and travel tips with you.
The Vegan Connection
So, what’s the adventure and vegan connection? Allow us to offer these common themes that connect everything on our site:
Saving the World: Being vegan is on every scale about saving the world. It’s about saving the world for one individual animal who will not be subjected to cruelty due to an individual choice. It’s also about saving the world by living in a way that is more sustainable for all humanity. Exploring is the best way to find motivation to save the world and to appreciate the impacts we have made.
Health: Adventuring and exploring require health. Being vegan is one of the surest ways to a healthy body, conscience, and planet.
Walking Softly: The kindest, most sustainable way to explore the world is to do so in a way that makes a minimal impact on resources. Then, those who come later can have the same rich experiences. Being vegan prioritizes sustainability and minimizing the impact we humans have on our environment.
Curiosity and Novelty: In order for humans to evolve, we must question what we know, what we are comfortable with, and why we keep our habits and traditions. Like so many vegans, we both grew up eating animals and not thinking much of it. At different points in our lives we began to question those traditions, peer behind the curtain, and look for a different way to approach eating and interacting with the natural world. The same is true with how we approach exploration. There are many ways to do it and often the road less traveled is the most fun. The key is to always consider why and how we do things, and if they can be done in a better way.
We hope Veg-X gives you the inspiration, ideas, and tips you need to live a life full of compassion and adventure! We would love to hear from you. Ready for more?
